How CloverDX compares with Boomi

How CloverDX compares with Boomi

2 platforms, 4 differences that matter once your pipelines get serious

Pricing that doesn't grow with your data
Complex ETL built in, not bolted on
Deploy where your data needs to be
AI that stays inside your control

Pricing that doesn't grow with your data

Boomi's pricing scales with connections, environments, and data volumes. As your data operation matures, so does the bill, often in ways that weren't fully visible when you signed. Overages surface at renewal, and annual escalation clauses are standard.

CloverDX licenses by server cores and Designer seats. Not by row, not by pipeline run, not by connector. As your data grows, your platform costs stay exactly where they were. No escalation clauses, no overage charges, no mid-year surprises.

Complex ETL built in, not bolted on

Boomi works well for straightforward integration. But when transformation logic gets serious - complex ETL, heavy aggregations, CDC operations - Boomi hits a ceiling. The typical fix is external scripting, which introduces technical debt that compounds over time as pipelines evolve and people move on.

CloverDX is built for this work. Your engineers can code when precision matters and use visual tools when speed does, in the same platform, on the same pipeline. Step-through debugging, reusable parameterized components, and record-level error handling are all native. One bad record doesn't bring down an entire job.

Deploy where your data needs to be

Boomi is cloud-native by design, which works well if your infrastructure lives entirely in the cloud. But for teams operating under compliance requirements, data residency obligations, or hybrid infrastructure - in finance, healthcare, government, or regulated industries - Boomi's cloud-first architecture doesn't always map onto what you're permitted to do with your data.

CloverDX supports on-premise, cloud, and hybrid deployment with full container support. Your data stays where it needs to stay. No preferred hosting partner, no steered architecture decisions.

AI that stays inside your control

Boomi has repositioned heavily around AI agents, and its AgentStudio platform lets you bring your own model or MCP server. But Boomi's own pricing is consumption-based. A per-message fee sits on top of whatever you're already paying your model provider, adding another metered cost that scales with usage in ways that can be difficult to forecast.

CloverDX takes a different approach. Every AI capability is BYOK (bring your own key) or BYOM (bring your own model) - you hold the provider contract, CloverDX takes no cut and is never in the data path of your AI calls. With BYOM, your data never leaves your own environment.

CloverDX case studies

CloverDX case study - Zywave
How Zywave freed up engineer time by up to a third with data automation

Insurtech company Zywave wanted to free up the time it was taking the engineering team to migrate new customers onto their platform.

The process had previously involved a lot of manual steps, but now with everything managed with workflows built in CloverDX, onboarding is faster, the team has more time, and things are easier to maintain.

"The onboarding process is our first chance at making a good impression with our customers after the dollars are already spent. And CloverDX gives us a tool to be able to move faster. Being able to reduce by 20% the time it takes for us to do those conversions for new customers is a huge benefit for us.”
- Bryan Kahlig, Senior Director, Product Development at Zywave

Ortec Finance - CloverDX Case Study
How Ortec Finance reduced repetitive manual data processes by up to 90% with CloverDX

Delivering quarterly reports for Ortec Finance’s clients used to be a huge amount of manual effort, taking up valuable consultants’ time and causing stress as deadlines approached.

But now with CloverDX they’ve automated all the data processes that go into building reports, replacing manual, unconnected steps with streamlined, automated workflows.

“It's really the click of a button and we run the system. Instead of having typically a 4 or 5 day process of people preparing the data, running the models, checking the results and building the reports to send to the clients, we’ve reduced that to half a day or less.”
- Thomas Hage, Senior Consultant at Ortec Finance
